how does hypnotherapy work?
My approach
People often come to me not understanding why they feel the way they do – this is extremely common; I have found that quite often we can get to a point in our life where we are at a crossroads and can’t pinpoint a clear reason.
Some of us may have a clear objective of what we are looking for help with, which could be X, Y or Z. Hypnotherapy covers a wide area, such as: achieving a better level of sleep; self-esteem/confidence/anxiety; coping with situations in a composed and level manner; feeling calm/relaxed; overcoming a phobia/trauma; understanding how you can feel contentment; habits/addictions/weight management etc.
If any of this sounds familiar, get in contact with me to arrange a initial session so you can understand how I can help you to get to where you want to be in life.
What happens during an initial session?
During an initial session we will establish how I am going to help you and what outcome you would like to achieve from our sessions, including your goals and hopes for the future. From here I will gather some general information from you before giving you an understanding of how the brain works, how does hypnotherapy work and how we experience emotions/reactions in the way that we do.
What happens during each session thereafter?
What is trance?
“… Emma has had, and continues to have an extremely positive impact in my life …”
Will I be in control?
Will each session be confidential?
As a member of the National Council for Hypnotherapy, confidentiality and trust are fundamental. In addition to this, safeguarding the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults is paramount and should a safeguarding issue become apparent, this may need to be disclosed.
Is the session tailored to my individual situation?
We are all individuals with our own unique personalities and encounters in life, we will work together to ensure we get the best results for you personally. I will always focus on solution orientated results to encourage a shift in perspective.
Do I have to talk about my anxieties/concerns/traumas?
We will focus on the present and the future and not on the past. Talking about past problems/anxieties/traumas, reinforces what you are trying to move away from, we can’t change past events in our lives but we can change the way we think about them.
